How did the status of women change during world war 2?

Women were forced to take new jobs because men were overseas

Due to the great demands of the wartime economy women were forced into factories

Also many women had a sense of freedom that their men were away, and a sense of responsibility because they had to take care of their families

When the men returned, many women didn't want to give up their jobs, and those that did remembered that they could do those jobs just as well as men did
